JOE BUREK Suddenly on May 10, 2011, Joe passed away at the Concordia Hospital. Joe will be sadly missed by his wife Irene of 52 years; daughter Judy of Lethbridge, AB; and son Dwayne (Marina) of San Jose California. Also remembering Joe will be his brother John (Betty) of Toronto; his sisters-in-law, Anne of St. Vital, Mary of Colorado, Mildred of Hazelridge and several nieces and nephews and many good friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Petronilla; sister Mary (John Taylor); brothers, Bernard, Julian, Casmer, Ted (Anne), Mike (Nell), Willie and Edward (Jean). Joe was born in the R.M. of Brokenhead and worked as a grain buyer for 37 years in Dugald, 32 years with Manitoba Pool Elevator and proud of winning Best Kept Premises for several years. Many years were spent at the cottage with his brothers fishing, playing cards, cementing walls and there was always a roof that needed new shingles. He enjoyed trips to Blue Jays baseball and to the casinos. Joe also liked to collect insulators, blow torches and Wade figurines. He was also a member of Our Lady of Hope Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Kin Place in Oakbank and the emergency personnel for their extra care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Our Lady of Hope Church or the Dugald Community Club. Prayers will be held Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Hope Church in Anola, MB.
