Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRENE SALTEL On Tuesday, May 10, 2011, Rene Saltel, aged 81 years, formerly of Woodlands, MB, passed away at Selkirk, MB. Survived by relatives in all areas of Canada and his godson Greg Gareau. Predeceased by his wife Martha in 1999 and by his parents. Born February 12, 1930 at Otterburn, MB, Rene worked several years with the railway before moving to Woodlands in 1964, where he farmed until his passing. Rene was known for his green thumb and loved growing tomato plants. A prayer service will be held on Monday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Cremation will follow and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlands Roman Catholic Church. Interment of cremains will follow in the Parish Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
