LARRY (LOU) MARTIN Peacefully on May 11, 2011, Larry Martin passed away after a courageous battle with Cancer. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Vicki; and daughters, Tracey (Evan) and Jill (JA); and grandchildren, Danica, Jade, Chase and Bodhi. Larry also leaves behind four siblings: Terry (Martie), Grant (Cindy), Brenda (Adrian) and Tim (Renee). He was raised in Fort Rouge, showed a love for sports at an early age and excelled in hockey and baseball. Larry began his 40 year career with Phillips Temro where he met his wife Vicki. He was a strong, dedicated leader passionate about his work who embraced challenges and learning new things throughout his life. His sense of humour, sincerity and competitive spirit will be missed by his family, co-workers and the many life-long friends he developed especially his Saturday morning golf buddies. Memorial Services to be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Thanks to Dr. Rubinger, Dr. Rumbolt and staff at CancerCare and St. Boniface Hospital's Palliative Care Ward. My deepest sympathies to you Vicki, to your daughters and the rest of the family. Lou was very close friend of mine going back to the baseball days but our friendship grew stronger when you came to live in Montreal for that short period of time. Our first two daughters were born at around the same time and we still have good memories from that time. I know that family was very important to him and it's nice to see the growing family.
