ANNE HANDKAMER July 24, 1921 - May 11, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of Anne Handkamer (nee Krystik) of Winnipeg, announce her passing on May 11, 2011 at age 89. Anne is survived by her sons, Dennis Shandruk (Betty-Anne) of Calgary and Edward Shandruk of Winnipeg, her grandson Ryan Shandruk (Melanie) of Calgary and her great-grandson Riley Shandruk of Calgary, all of whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Chris Handkamer in 2007, with whom she spent many wonderful years, enjoying their home on the river in Lac du Bonnet, then back to Winnipeg for a couple of years before moving to Kelowna where they spent 11 years making many wonderful new friends, and finally, returning to Winnipeg to make their home in East St. Paul. Anne was also predeceased by her first husband, Harry Shandruk in 1989. Anne leaves behind her sister, Mary Wilkinson of Vernon, BC and an extended circle of in-laws, nieces and nephews, as well as many devoted friends she made throughout her life. Anne will always be remembered for her feisty spirit, her vibrant energy, her exuberant laugh and, of course, her famous delicious perogies. Memorial services and reception will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Glen Eden Funeral Chapel, 4477 Main Street, Winnipeg. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
