ABE (ABRAM) REIMER On May 10, 2011 my Schatzi and husband of 21 years received that heavenly dispatch and drove that last mile with his co-pilot and family by his side. Abe was born March 6, 1954 in Steinbach, Manitoba. He leaves to mourn his wife Caroline Mitchel; daughter Bonnie; son Scott (Jodene) and granddaughter Ashlyn. Brothers, Elvin (Anne) and Joe (Olga); sister Helen; sister-in-law Diana and many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbours and his beloved pet Snowey. He was predeceased by his parents, Ben and Elizabeth Reimer, George and Emma Mitchel; brothers, Ben Reimer and Richard Mitchel. Abe owned a roofing company for many years. Later he was employed as a driver by several trucking firms in Winnipeg. Most recently he drove for Trans X Trucking. He took great pride in his job and always had a funny and interesting story to tell during daily phone calls home. He enjoyed photography, studying oceanography, music, camping and adventure. He had a great love for nature, his children and his favourite country Russia. We will all miss his sense of humour and his ability to put a smile on someone's face. He always lent a helping hand to those less fortunate who needed a meal or a word of encouragement. A memorial service and celebration of his life will take place Tuesday, May 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 815 Inkster Blvd., Winnipeg. Officiating will be Pastor Peter Lurvey. Private Interment will take place at a later date. Honorary Pallbearers from heaven will be brothers, Ben Reimer and Richard Mitchell; cousin Don Reimer; uncle John Reimer; and Mary and Ed Wagner. Thank you to the staff of Palliative Care, St. Boniface Hospital. Donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
