Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERMAN CLIFFORD HEASLIP Peacefully, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at the Portage General Hospital, on May 11, 2011 Rev. Herman Clifford Heaslip went to be with his Lord and Saviour at the age of 78. Clifford will be sadly missed and leaves behind his loving wife Doreen of 55 years; daughter Angela (Brian) Chubb; grandsons, Garrett, Brendan and Ashton McElroy of Calgary. Daughter Bonita Edmand; grand-daughters, Melissa (Kyle King), Juline (Josue Rodriquez) of Winnipeg. Daughter Wanda (Darren) LaRose; granddaughters, Heather and Samantha of Birch Hills, SK. Great-Grand-children, Jayden, Aaryn, William, Jasmine and Mya. Clifford was born on September 7, 1932 in Lansdowne, Ontario. In 1950 he attended the Peterborough Bible College and A.M.I., and was ordained as a Minister of the United Pentecostal Church in 1961. Throughout his ministry he evangelized, pastored and held many board positions with the United Pentecostal Church International Organization; including, Secretary Treasurer for the Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario District, Superintendent for the Central Canadian District, Minnesota Manitoba District Secretary, Foreign Mission Director, Trans Canada Secretary and was on the International Budget Committee and as of late held the title of Honorary Board Member. Rev Heaslip had the privilege to pastor in Sandbay, Picton, Beaverton, ON and two churches in Winnipeg including Bethel Tabernacle and for the past 37 years Emmanuel United Pentecostal Church. Clifford was a Licensed Insurance Agent with the Insurance Council of Manitoba. He was a man of high ethics and integrity, and started Heaslip's Insurance Agency in 1974. He maintained many long lasting relationships with his clients, and colleagues. One of his greatest gifts in life was his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was a friend, leader, mentor and great inspiration to many. He dedicated himself endlessly to his faith and family. We would like to thank Dr. Pat Harris and all the doctors and nurses in Winnipeg and Portage la Prairie who provided such loving care. Special thanks to the Palliative Care teams and Home Care teams for all their endless support. We would also like to send our heartfelt thanks to all who have carried our family in thought and prayer during this difficult time. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 17 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Pentecostal Church, 955 Wilkes Avenue, Winnipeg. Burial and reception to follow at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Emmanuel United Pentecostal Church (Leila Ave.), UPC Portage Church or Sunset Palliative Care in Portage la Prairie.
