DAVID DUNCAN JOYAL Death leaves a heartache No one can heal Love leaves a memory No one can steal Suddenly on the morning of May 12, 2011, at the age of 74, David slipped into the temporary sleep of death. Sadly, he was predeceased by his beloved wife Paulette two short months ago on March 6, 2011. Left to mourn David are his daughter Billie Schibler; his four sons, John Wallace, Sean Joyal (Anna), Pierre Joyal and Paul Joyal, as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Shirley Prokopiuk and Lorraine Legace, and a large association of Christian brothers and sisters. In 1937, David was born in Winnipeg. In 1954, at the age of 17, he joined the Navy serving for over three years. In 1960, David entered the Plumbing Trade and remained with this trade for over 50 years. His abilities were very versatile, whether it was steamfitting, teaching the trade at the high school level, or working in Maintenance at Concordia Hospital. He designed and engineered mechanical systems and could solve any problem. He loved his work so much he had to be convinced to retire at age 69. In the early 1970s, David chose to become a worshiper of Jehovah. This led to meeting his soulmate Paulette, whom he married in 1978. These were the happiest years of their lives. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, David was a skillful teacher and loving shepherd. He devoted extensive time in the ministry and worked on Kingdom Hall construction. His main focus was to serve his Creator. His unwavering belief was that God would never forget his work and the love he showed for His name (Hebrews 6:10). The Memorial Service will be held at Gateway Kingdom Hall Complex of Jehovah's Witnesses at 937 Gateway Road on Wednesday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined.
