ELSIE DZIOBA On May 14, 2011, Elsie Dzioba, born Adelpha Grenkow, fell asleep in death in Winnipeg at the age of 86. She was born April 25, 1925 in Rosser, Manitoba. Elsie was married to Emil Dzioba for 55 years at the time of his passing in 1993. Her parents were Paul Grenkow and Petronella Zebrowski. Her brothers, who predeceased her, were Peter, Walter, Daniel, Joseph, Paul Jr., Michael and Frank. Elsie had only one sister whom she loved dearly, Justine, who also passed away before her. She has one surviving brother, the youngest, Russell. She also has many nieces and nephews, too many to name. She was especially close to Lynne. Her children, who will miss her dearly, are John and his wife Betty, Brian and his wife Marilyn, Valerie and her husband Brad, Verna, and Rita. Elsie loved all her grandchildren Shane, Wes, Jamison, Lara, Alyssa, Chris, Michael, David, Steve, Sasha, Dustin, John James, and Adrian and she was blessed with four great-grandchildren Connor and Hayden, Silas and Sawyer. She firmly believed in the resurrection hope promised by Jehovah her God as found in the Holy Scriptures. Elsie looked forward to seeing and walking again with her dear loved ones on a paradise earth in the near future. Her life was focused on that hope and was full with the joy and pleasure of seeing and hearing from her family, her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the many brothers and sisters from the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Winnipeg that visited her to give her encouragement and spiritual comfort from the Bible. Also, they wish to thank the staff of Bethania Nursing Home for the kind and loving care given to their mother and for going out of their way to show kindness to the family surrounding her towards her last days. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with Robertus Berkers officiating. Interment to be at Brookside Cemetery.
