WILLIAM ALFRED LEGGETT On Thursday, May 12, 2011 Bill peacefully succumbed to his courageous battle with cancer. It was a peaceful passing with family members by his side. He is survived by his loving wife Pat, children Jim (Wendy), Bob, Don (Darlene), Becky (Brian); stepchildren Donna (Calgary), Michael; sister Phyllis (Penetang, ON); his grandchildren Ryan, Regan, Debbie, Jason, Lindsey, Neil, Brent and Kayla and great-grandchildren Julia and Olivia. He was predeceased by his first wife Florence, father Howard and mother Martha Bryson. Bill spent his childhood in Deloraine, MB and returned to his birthplace in 1951 where he was employed by CN in Works Equipment for 34 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of A.N.A.F. #60 for 50 years where he spent many happy hours playing cards and pool with his comrades until he lost his vision in 2005. Win or lose, Bill was a true, loyal Blue Jays fan. The family is eternally grateful to the nurses and doctors on the 8th Floor Palliative Care Ward at St. Boniface Hospital for the compassion and care shown our loved one. Special thanks to Rene Toupin for his visits and outings. Bill has requested no service be held. He has been cremated and his ashes will be interred in Deloraine at a later date.
