ELSIE AUSBORN Elsie Ausborn passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the age of 91 years. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters: Edith Snyder (Bill), and Joyce Harmacy (John); grandchildren: Dianne Genereux (Peter), Ryan Snyder (Rae-Lyn), Gavin Harmacy, Scott Harmacy (Nicole); great-grandchildren: Lucas, Grace, Emma, Avery, and Emily; and by her sister Kae Byers. She was predeceased by her first husband Ernest McColm. When Elsie was 65 years old, she married her old high school friend Paul. They celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary in 2010! Paul passed away in February of this year. Elsie enjoyed her relationship with Paul's children: Margaret Rasmussen (Randy), Dianna Hatley (John), and Dorothy Harrett, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elsie was born in Camper, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg where she lived the rest of her life. Mom loved to dance, and in her 40s, spent many a happy time square dancing. She belonged to the Manitoba Boganeers Snowmobiling Club. Mom loved to travel and travelled to Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. Paul and Elsie also spent many years travelling all over North America with their RV. In later years they spent winters in Mesa, Arizona. Mom also loved conversation, playing any card game (she usually won!), bingo, and listening to music. Reading was a passion, which she passed on to her family. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home.
