Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAURICE DESJARDINS April 10, 1919 - May 18, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Maurice Desjardins at the age of 92 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Maurice was born in St. Denis, Saskatchewan; with his parents and younger brother they began to farm the new homestead. In 1934 at the age of 15 they moved to Fisher Branch in hopes of a better life. In 1943 he married his soul mate Elzire and went on to raise their family of five. Dad had many interests some of which were his genealogy, world affairs, carpentry, and of course farming. Dad was an avid reader and eagerly shared his knowledge and understanding on many subjects. His ability to remember details always made his storytelling enjoyable to listen to. Dad had a passion for designing and building various carpentry projects. He was innovative in that he always seemed to find a way to make things work whether it was making a tool or repairing a machine. Our father, grandfather, great-grandfather and pepere will be greatly missed. We thank you for all the wonderful memories. He is survived by his five children: Andre (Pearl), Eveline (Henry), Roland (Anita), Helene (Dave), Real (Carla), 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, his nephew Wayne, great-niece and great-nephew. He was predeceased by his wife Elzire (nee Guimond), parents Hector and Delima (nee Gauthier), brothers Leo and Marcel (died in infancy). Prayers will be held Friday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m. followed by a funeral mass on Saturday, May 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Fisher Branch. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. A special thanks goes to the staff of the Percy E. Moore Hospital and the St. Boniface Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. FISHER FUNERAL HOME INC. In care of arrangements. (204) 372-6803 or 372-6271
