MERRY EVELYN MCNAUGHTON (nee MEANS) Peacefully, after a courageous battle with Cancer, it is with deep regret that we announce the death of Merry Evelyn McNaughton on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 66 years. Left to mourn Merry are her sons, Charles and Rod McNaughton; grandchildren, Jason, Brayden, Cassidy, Julia and Billie; sister Beth Anglin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. On Thursday, May 26, 2011, Merry's Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. in Young United Church, 222 Furby Street, Winnipeg, MB with Rev. Noelle Bowles, presider. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Riverview Health Centre for helping Merry maintain her dignity and respect while coping with her final days. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Merry's memory would be very much appreciated to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. GOD SAW YOU GETTING TIRED God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, He closed His arms round you and whispered, Come to me. In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away. Our hearts were almost broken, You fought so hard to stay. What you suffered, you told us few, You didn't deserve what you went through. Tired and weary, you made no fuss But tried so hard to stay with us. But when we saw you sleeping, So peaceful, free from pain, We could not wish you back To suffer all that again. So treasure her Lord, in your garden of rest, For here on earth, she was the very best. God Bless You, Amen
