Left to cherish her memory will be her husband of 39 years and best friend, Brian. Marlene is survived by her Mother Alice Hecko and sisters Barbara (Wayne) and Josephine Lewco (Paul), as well as other family members and close friends. She was predeceased by her father Steve Hecko. Marlene grew up on the family farm in Sanford, Manitoba before moving into Winnipeg to start her working career. She worked at Manitoba Health until her retirement in 2005. She had many hobbies including selling Pampered Chef, TKO, CG Dips, All Star Dips and recently, Chocolate Moose Fudge Factory products. Her hobbies enabled her to travel Canada seeing some of the countryside she loved. Marlene and Brian vacationed in Mexico and other spots and most recently took a Caribbean Cruise. Marlene enjoyed the outside and took great pleasure and pride working from dawn until dusk in her beautifully landscaped gardens. Marlene's many talents included cooking and baking, sewing, ceramics, and paper tole. She was a gracious hostess and made you feel welcome in her home. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A special thanks to the staff at Grace Hospital for their efforts and care. A celebration of Marlene's life will take place on Friday, May 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave., across from Brookside Cemetery.
