REGINALD JOSEPH KAAKE November 9, 1926 - May 18, 2011 Our family sadly announces the passing of Reginald at Health Sciences Centre, aged 84 years. Reg was predeceased by his parents, Esther and Bernard Kaake; youngest brother Karl Kaake and twin brother Conway Kaake. He is survived by his ex-wife Enid Kaake and daughter Kimberley Kaake and son-in-law Alex Barber of Winnipeg. Sister-in-law Eva Kaake of Delta, BC, Enid Kaake of Winnipeg, brother-in-law Milton Cooper of Toronto and sister-in-law Selma Cooper of Houston; and nieces and nephews, Gary Kaake, Don Kaake, Sharon Young, Patricia Sculthorpe, Arthur Cooper, David Hall, Kristina Hall, Brenley Kaake and Bonnie deKoening. Reg was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the north end spending his summers at Winnipeg Beach at his grandparents cabin. A sensitive and emotional man, his great passions were music especially big band and spanish, dancing, movies, his Mustangs and his church. He started working at the CPR where his father also worked and retired from Systems Business Forms in 1991. He was a certified member of the Spokesman's Club and spent many hours studying and researching history and religion. Proud and uncompromising in his beliefs, he was a warrior for the Worldwide Church of God and later the Philadelphian Church of God. A wonderful friend who loved to socialize and have fun, he was also a thoughtful and articulate person who had a fine mind and kind heart. He fought to the end and he will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. His toes were always tapping and his smile was always ready. Graveside service and interment of his cremated remains will be held on June 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue attending Minister Ron Hanson. A reception will follow in the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home immediately following the interment. For those who wish, flowers gratefully accepted and can be sent to Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • One of the happiest times in my life was to see my dear Dad Conway and Uncle Reg meet at Vancouver airport in the last couple years of their lives. I've never seen two old guys so excited! ...such an honour to be there for their final time together. Thank you Reg for being a great Brother to my Dad xo - Posted by: Don Kaake (Nephew) on: Oct 31, 2015
