CLIFFORD (CARL) COOK March 27, 1949 - May 18, 2011 It is with much sadness we announce the sudden passing of Clifford Cook on May 18, 2011 at the age of 62 years. Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Marjorie, beloved children Melissa (Paul) and Curtis, grandchildren Haley and Alex, his mother Ruth, sisters Linda, Allison (Darren), brother Garth (Phyllis), father-in-law Bill, brother-in-law Larry (Verna), sister-in-law Shirley and many loving nieces and nephews. Cliff was predeceased by his dad Carl and his mother-in-law Laura. Cliff was born and spent his early childhood in Glass, Manitoba, moving to Morris and then to Anola, Manitoba. Along with his dad, Cliff spent several years in the 4-H Beef Club and as a volunteer Fire Fighter on the Anola Fire Department. In 1971 he married the love of his life, Marjorie Vanhove, and they began their life together. Cliff started his work career with MTS then moved to CN where he got a taste for the Big Rigs . In 1975 he started working at Anola Building Centre, the family business, but the lure of the open highway was calling. Cliff was never more happy than when he was travelling down the open highway in his beloved truck. Other than the day he took Marj as his wife and the birth of his children and grandchildren, Cliff's proudest day was when he received his Million Mile Safe Driving Award. Cliff was a loving father and grandfather. He was very proud of his grandchildren, Haley and Alex, he spent much time with them in Brandon. Cliff and Marj enjoyed nothing more than to get away for a weekend at their favourite casinos. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre S.I.C.U. and also to the staff at the Steinbach Hospital for their compassionate care. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Oakbank United Church, 582 Balsam Cres., Oakbank, Manitoba at 11:00 a.m. Funeral Arrangements In Care Of WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVE.
