VERNA WERBENUK It is with much sadness and very heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our sister, aunt and great-aunt, Verna Werbenuk, on Monday, May 16, 2011. She was born in Poplarfield on March 22, 1932, moved to Fraserwood in 1944, resided there until her demise. She is survived by her twin sister Margaret of Fraserwood; sister Natalie (Michael) Zawatski of Winnipeg, and Anna (John) Chmilowsky of Fraserwood; niece Tracy (Al) Castelein of Teulon; nephew Grant (Gaileen); great-nephews James and Jonathon; great-niece Saraya Chmilowsky, all of Coon Rapids, Minnesota. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her father John on February 10, 1995 and mother Pearl on September 17, 2004. She has now joined them and will be in good hands. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held September 17, 2011. The family would like to thank the Gimli Ambulance and the S.I.C.U. at the Health Sciences Centre for their 24 hour care of Verna. We had hoped and prayed for a miracle, but it was not to be. We thank you for all you did to keep Verna comfortable and your efforts to save her. We will never forget.
