CATHERINE JOAN MURPHY It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Murphy on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, at the age of 82 years. Left to mourn Joan's passing is her sister, Anne Duncan (nee Murphy) as well as many extended family members. Joan was born in Winnipeg and called Winnipeg home for most of her life. She retired from a career as a civil servant with the provincial government and enjoyed travel and spending time with her cousins, sister, friends, nieces and great-niece and nephews. Joan had a particularly soft spot for her great-niece and nephews, whose activities she followed with keen interest. She always knew who was playing where, and how things went. Interment will be held in St. John's Cathedral, Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200 - 310 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
