Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES MERVYN BROOKS Jim passed away peacefully at home in Brandon, MB on May 15, 2011 in his 81st year with his family beside him after a long hard fought battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marilyn; daughter Karen (Danny) Nicholls, grandchildren, Quinn, Cole and Seth, Winnipeg, MB; son Scott (Carol), granddaughter Katya, Calgary, AB. Also surviving is a daughter Wendy (Doug), grandchildren, Andrea and Randi, Regina, SK; brother Cliff, Barrie, ON; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Brooks, Regina, SK, Gail (Ed) Sanderson, Diane (John) Nixon; mother-in-law Iola Flanagan and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by infant brother Allan, brother Gordon, sister-in-law Beta Brooks, father-in-law Clarence Landles, brother-in-law Jim Baptie. Jim was well known in the sports community for his many years of dedicated volunteerism but more so for the passion he had for his beloved Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was a loyal friend to all he met, always had a kind word to anyone who needed his ear and will be missed by all. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Jim's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415-1st Street, Brandon, MB R7A 2W8 or to the Manitoba Down Syndrome Society, 204-825 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5.
