Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGALE GRAINGER December 9, 1945 - May 17, 2011 After a courageous battle with cancer, Gale passed away at Riverview Health Center. She was predeceased by her father Samuel and her mother Ruth and is survived by her brother Jim. Gale attended Isaac Brock, Daniel McIntyre and United College, as it was known at the time. She was employed by the City of Winnipeg Library Branch, starting at the Henderson Library and was, for the last 25 years, head of the Monroe Branch. Gale enjoyed sailing, having belonged to Northern Harbour Yacht Club near Kenora, and owned a boat there with her friend Paul. She also had a love of travel, visiting friends in the U.S. and enjoying time in Mexico and Cuba, while taking a break from winter. And of course, the daily crossword was a challenge to be met. Gale was a great sister and a tremendous friend. She will be truly missed by her brother and all the people with whom she came in contact, especially her lifelong friends, Paul and Maggie, Jan and Craig, Heidi, Paula, Joan, Marlene and Ed. Cremation has taken place, as well as a private service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice. Don't cry because it is over, Smile because it happened. Rest in Peace Gale. Chapel Lawn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
