DAVID KONYK 1946 - 2011 The family is deeply saddened by David's passing on Sunday, May 15, 2011, following a short but courageous struggle with cancer. Remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife Jocelyne (nee Lavoie) and his children, Sean (Lorena) and Nadine of which he was very proud. David grew up in Winnipeg and later settled in East St. Paul to raise his family. After a career with the Winnipeg Fire Department he decided to take up retirement in Lévis, Quebec where he enjoyed cycling to the utmost. Another pastime was travelling with his wife throughout Canada and the United States in their RV. He also enjoyed the many visits to Quebec by their friends from Winnipeg. He will be dearly missed. Cremation and funeral services have already taken place in Lévis. A memorial service will take place at the Firefighters Memorial at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue on Friday, May 27 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Firefighters Burn Fund, 303-83 Garry St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4J9.
