KRISTINN HAMBLY Suddenly on May 19, 2011, Kristinn Hambly, beloved son, brother and grandson, passed away at his residence in Selkirk, Manitoba. Kristinn is dearly missed by his parents, Doug and Burma of Portage la Prairie; brother Garth of Guelph, ON; and his grandmother Inga of Gimli, MB. Also missing Kristinn is his Great-Aunt Anna O'Brien of Whitby, ON, Aunt Jill Young (Craig) of Gull Lake, MB, Uncle Rick Hambly of Calgary, AB. He is also survived by numerous cousins in Manitoba, Alberta and Ontario. Also special cousins, the Kotz's, Ayling's and O'Briens. And of course his much loved pets, Moosie and Ophelia who were his constant companions. He was predeceased by his Grandpa Joe Isfeld, Nana and Grandad Edna and Ross Hambly, and Uncles Grant and Gary Hambly. Kristinn was born in Portage la Prairie on July 20, 1971. He attended Prince Charles and Crescentview Schools. He graduated from Arthur Meighen High School in 1989 as Class Valedictorian. As a youngster he enjoyed soccer and gymnastics; and when he got older he really enjoyed golfing, video games and playing pool with his buddies. He was also an avid movie and music buff and would spend hours watching or listening to all the newest releases as well as his favourite classics. He made friends easily, and always had a smile and a firm handshake available. Kristinn enjoyed life to it's fullest. After graduating high school, Kristinn managed Top 40 music store in Portage, worked at Future Shop in Winnipeg, and owned and managed The Men's Room clothing store in Portage. He then attended C.D.I. College in Winnipeg and graduated with a Degree in Computer Programming. He worked for Ceridian Canada, and later a start up Company as a Senior Programmer designing and building Real Estate Software. Kristinn was also a talented musician and played Bass Guitar, Keyboard and Piano. He started the band Spectrum with some of his close childhood friends and later was a member of Doc Walker in their early years. A funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church (15 Tupper St. South) in Portage la Prairie on Thursday, May 26 at 2:00 p.m., led by The Venerable Norman Collier. Honorary pallbearers will be his close friends: Shawn Lawe, Scott Whetstone, Jon Vezey, Steve Woodside, Pat Dwyer and Mike Wilson. Interment of his ashes will take place at a later date at the family plot in Gimli, MB. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. Rest In Peace Sweetheart.
