GERMAINE MARIE Alice La Fleur (nee Couture) Germaine La Fleur, (July 24, 1927 Meyronne, SK), beloved wife of belated husband Marcel La Fleur, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Germaine on May 20, 2011 at the age of 83. She will be sadly missed by her children Fernand, Gilles (daughter Baénie), Lucie (son Christian), Conrad (wife Monique, son Guy, daughter Natalie), Monique (husband Christophe), René (Gabrielle), Dominic, and daughter-in-law Margaret (daughter Michelle, son Marcel), wife of late son Richard. She also leaves to mourn her sister Rita (husband Al), Angèle (wife of late brother Evariste), Jean (husband of late sister Suzanne), Irène (wife of late brother Ubald) and her many nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives. She was predeceased by her parents, five brothers and five sisters, and two sons (Philippe and Richard). Germaine was widowed since the passing of her husband Marcel in 1978. She was well respected by many friends for her dedication to family and home. Germaine will be lovingly remembered by all as a woman who had a big heart and a great sense of humour. You could always count on her to listen and provide comfort, understanding, and solace. As a mother of nine children she always fought to provide the best for those in her care. She loved spending time with her family. She was well known for her cheerful nature and conversation. We will miss her motherly teasing and witty remarks that could always make you smile. Her love has touched the lives of many and will live on in our hearts. Prayers will be on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. (viewing at 6:30 p.m.) at Paroisse St-Eugène, 1007 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg.
