EDWARD C. J. PELK
Date of Passing: May 10, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD C. J. PELK With sadness we announce the passing of our brother, Ed Pelk at St. Boniface Hospital following complications after major surgery. Ed died peacefully with family at his side on May 10, 2011. Ed was born at Portage la Prairie in June 1941 and raised in North High Bluff and High Bluff. He graduated in architectural drafting in 1964 and had worked for Manitoba Hydro, Crippen Acres and the City of Winnipeg. Ed had been self employed in commercial art, completing the 1980 mural at the Courts of St. James, murals in Brandon, Portage la Prairie and Winnipeg and signs and logos for Folklorama. He was self employed with home illustrating but felt most fulfilled in design and construction when with Domestyle International, working in Brandon, western Canada and the northern United States from 1978 to 1992. Ed also worked for Habitat for Humanity. Ed was naturally gifted in art and was an avid reader. But mostly, he loved to talk, conversing on a wide range of topics, generously sharing his thoughts, ideas and sense of humour and talents. Ed is survived by his sisters, Shirley Walker, Marlene Anderson, Evelyn Slade, Myrna (Les) Zulkowski, Kathleen (Ross) Lomonaco and Alice (Barry) Oswald and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Anna Pelk; brothers-in-law, Ed Walker, Don Slade, Carl Anderson; and step-niece Marilyn (Walker) Boryniski. A gathering of remembrance will take place Saturday, May 28 at the Riverview Community Centre, 90 Ashland Avenue, Winnipeg, MB at 4:30 p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date in the family plot in McKenzie Cemetery, High Bluff, MB. The family would like to thank the St. Boniface Hospital Intensive Care staff for their care and support. Arrangements are by Ronald Moffit Memorial Services (204) 856 - 3487

I met Ed many many years ago, I think at the farm - I was going out with Myrna. Lost touch with her in the 60's and just wanted to know how she is, and how her life has gone - if she sees this, I just wanted to know how she is. - Posted by: Stuart MacPherson (friend of the family) on: May 20, 2014
