FLORENCE POMRENKE (nee MORKEN) Peacefully at Vista Park Lodge, on Monday, May 23, 2011, Florence passed away with her niece and nephew at her bedside. Florence was predeceased by her parents Oliver and Alma, her loving husband Herman, four sisters and six brothers. Florence is survived by her brother Melvin, sister-in-law Winnie, sister-in-law Eleanor, brother-in-law Howard (Alice) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Florence was born in Roseau, Minnesota on January 14, 1921. Florence was raised in Piney, Manitoba attending the Pine Valley School. Florence married Herman in 1948 and settled on a farm near Emerson where they farmed until they retired in 1972. Florence had a great love for the outdoors. She would spend many hours taking care of her large garden, her beautiful yard and worked hard on the farm. She always found time to bake and to crochet. Florence loved to dance and danced several dances on her 90th birthday. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vita Funeral Home in Vita with interment to follow in the Emerson Cemetery. We wish to thank the nurses and staff at Vista Park Lodge for their kindness and compassionate care during Auntie's stay.
