GERMAINE MARIE-JOSEPH VANDALE (nee Malo) 1929 - 2011 Peacefully, with her family at her side, Germaine passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the age of 81. Germaine was predeceased by her beloved husband Adelard Vandale, her parents Alphonse and Bernadette Malo, her sister Irene and husband Martial (Butch) Gagnon, and brother-in-law Paul Dandenault. Left to cherish her memory are her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Louise (Tim), Christine (Ken) Jessica and Darien, Ray (Roberta), Calista, Sherry; Paul (Leona), Jason and Ryan; Gisele (Ian), Janique (Sean) Keira, Nathalie; Luc (Lisette) Danika, Jana, Céleste; Lucette (Serge), Chantal (Josh) Carter, Liane; as well as her sister Thérèse Dandenault, and the many nieces and nephews of the Gagnon family. Mom was born in St. Malo, on September 21, 1929, where she attended school, later moving to Winnipeg where she met Dad. She worked many years in the hospital and nursing home field. A lady of great faith and generosity, her life centered around her family, which meant everything to her. Special thanks go to all the staff at St. Boniface Hospital. A very special thank you goes to Dr. John Rabson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Germaine's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. A memorial mass celebrating Germaine's life will be held on Thursday, May 26, at 11:00 a.m. in La Paroise du Précieux-Sang, 200 Kenny St. Rest in peace Mom, the fight is over.
