JOSEPH HENRI CARRIERE October 28, 1933 - May 22, 2011 Sadly, our family announces the passing of our dear brother, Joseph Henri Carriere on Sunday, May 22, 2011. Joe was predeceased by his mother Gisele (1979) and his father Emile (1982), brother-in-law Robert and nephew Ronald. He is survived by his brother Larry (Eleanor); his sisters: Sylvia, Brigitte (Bryan) and Yolande (Garth); as well as his son Gerald for whom he held a special place in his heart. His memory will be cherished by his family, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In his younger years, Joe was an excellent swimmer and enjoyed being a lifeguard at the local pool. Like his father, Joe was an avid snooker player and over the years, truly enjoyed playing pool at the Norwood Legion with his father, brother and his buddies. Joe was employed in the commercial painting industry for many years. Our heartfelt thanks to the doctors and the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for taking care of our brother. Your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated. Thank you to Joe's homecare workers, in particular Marnie for all the meals she prepared for him and the friendly chats they had. Joe really appreciated her kindness, as we all did. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation Inc., 675 McDermot Ave., RM ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. In keeping with Joe's wishes, cremation has taken place and an informal celebration of his life, will be held in the Norwood Legion, 134 Marion St. on Tuesday, May 31, at 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E. Brother Joe, When I was little, you took care of me; when you got ill, I took care of you; when your body could not fight anymore, God shed his light on you; now He took over and is forever taking care of you. You will always remain in my heart. Love, Your kid sister, Yolande - Posted by: Yolande Pestaluky (Family) on: May 28, 2011
