Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDORIS RONYCK (CURRIE) March 5, 1924 - May 26, 2011 It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Doris Ronyck, with her children at her side, at the River East Personal Care Home. Mom had resided there since October 4, 2001. Mom was predeceased by her beloved husband Bill in 1956, daughter Sandra in 1997, parents Bill and Marie Currie, twin brothers, brother Allan and brother-in-law Ralph Hayes. Mom leaves to mourn her sons Bob (Jocelyn), Ken (MarieRose), daughters Linda (Eugene Warnier), Brenda (Emile Lambert), 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her sister Jane, sister-in-law Irene, cousins, nieces and nephews. Mom was never one to go out a lot. She was content to stay at home and raise her five children but when tragedy struck, with the loss of her husband Bill at such an early age, she went to work part-time at Union Stockyards Restaurant; then Woolworth's Lunch Counter and finally at Air Canada for 20 years. During her years at Air Canada and her retirement, Mom enjoyed her travels to California, Edmonton, Victoria, Maritimes, and especially many times to England, Ireland and other overseas destinations. The few years while mom was still at home she enjoyed feeding the birds all year round, working in her flower beds, knitting mitts for the grandchildren and reading the newspaper. Mom will be sadly missed and will live in our hearts forever. In accordance with Mom's wishes, a private service will be held. The family would like to thank the staff on Charity at River East Personal Care Home for their devoted care and support given to mom during her ten years at the home. A MOTHER IS SHE WHO CAN TAKE THE PLACE OF ALL OTHERS, BUT WHOSE PLACE NO ONE ELSE CAN TAKE. If friends and family so desire, donations may be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0K6. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE (204) 949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
