DONALD ROBERT GRAHAM It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Donald Robert Graham, May 27, 2011 with family by his side. Donald was predeceased by his brothers, Walter (Glenys), Jack (Doreta) and Harry (Kay); sisters, Irene (Cornie) and Ruth (Guy); daughter Carol; and grandson Christopher. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Vivien; sons, Cameron (Jan) and David (Marsha); son-in-law Blair; grandchildren, Brooke, Dawn, Brianne, Alex, Derek and Andrew. Don was born in Basswood, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg. He attended Lord Roberts, Kelvin High School and University of Manitoba. Dad trained in the RCAF near the end of the war. The family settled and lived in the St Vital area. He spent his entire working life with Great West Life retiring in 1983. Dad, along with family and friends, built the cottage at Moose Lake which remains his legacy. Many wonderful memories were shared at the family cottage with the kids and grandkids. The cottage was always full of friends to share the lake experience. Dad was an avid tennis and bridge player. He enjoyed watching hockey and his adopted Phoenix Suns basketball team. He cherished time spent with his poker buddies. Winters were spent in Mesa, Arizona for 20 years where many new friends were made. Dad and Viv enjoyed the fine weather, touring Arizona, and the many functions at their park. Don was a quiet and understanding influence and considerate head of the family and will be greatly missed and forever loved by his children and their families. A private family interment will take place. There will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Association Manitoba or a charity of your choice. You are an Example You never know when someone may catch a dream for you. You never know when a little word or something you may do may open up the windows of a mind that seeks the light... The way you live may not matter at all, but you never know, it might.
