HOMOBONO (BOIE) RANA October 22, 1941 May 27, 2011 Peacefully with family by his side, Homobono Boie Rana passed away at Maples Personal Care Home, on May 27, 2011, at the age of 69. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Josie; sons Hector (Jemelee), Lloyd (Colleen), and Marlon (Mai); grandchildren Taylor, Emily and Mikaila; brother Caesar (Rose); sisters Deogracia, and Felicidad (Mindo); as well as many other friends and family members. He was predeceased by his parents Gregorio and Concepcion; brothers Arturo (Marina), Benidicto (Melitona), Emmanuel and sister Guadulupe (Zosimo). Boie was born in Guindulman, Bohol, Philippines on October 22, 1941. He graduated with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in Cebu Institute of Technology, was a Fleet Super-intendent for Pepsi Co. in Cagayan de Oro and married September 16, 1967 in Ormoc City. On March 6, 1977, Boie and his family were sponsored by the Baunsit family (Jon, Lilia, Arlene and Rex) to immigrate to Winnipeg, MB, where he was employed by Domtar Packaging until his retirement in July, 1999. Boie enjoyed his retirement by returning to Philippines annually until 2008. He loved spending time camping, fishing, singing, and dancing with family and friends. He was past president of the Bisaman Assoc., a member of the Knights of Columbus, Couples for Christ and Legion of Mary. Lamay will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (982-7550) on Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3 from 7:00 p.m. to midnight. Funeral service will be held at St. Patrick's Church, 168 Worth Street (774-7307) on Saturday, June 4 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, with reception at 6 Black Pearl Cove (257-0636). The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of the Maples Personal Care Home for their kindness and compassionate care to Tatay .
