GORDON FINLAY BENNETT January 29, 1931 - May 28, 2011 On Saturday, May 28, 2011, Gordon passed away at the Ste. Rose General Hospital with Shirley, Gwen, Carla and Glen at his side. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley, two daughters Gwen (John), Carla (Wayne), son Glen (Sharon), grandchildren; Brent (Jennifer), Sarah (Scott), Carter, Katie, Jordan, Kayla, Cole, great-grandchildren; twin girls born May 28, 2011. Also sister Alma Bennett, in-laws Bud Jacobs (Eileen), Barb Gamache (Reg) and many nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by his parents William and Amy Bennett, son-in-law Bryan Terrick, in-laws, Cecil and Ethel Jacobs. Gordon was born in the Turtle River District. He worked for the Department of Highways and retired in 1987. Gordon and Shirley would have been married 55 years on June 8, 2011. Gordon had many interests. He loved to dance, call a square dance, auctioneering, curl, fish, hunt, garden and play cards. He always enjoyed a good time. Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Knox United Church. McCreary, Manitoba followed by interment in the McCreary Cemetery and reception in the McCreary Community Hall. If friends so desire, contribution to the Central Plains CancerCare Services, 318 Sask.
