EMILY SLATER (nee HAMMERBERG) With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Emily, beloved wife of Ken on May 29, 2011. Also mourning are her son Neil (Shelly) and daughters, Noella (Terry), Susan (Larry) and Jodi (Al); grandchildren, Donald (Pam), Sheldon, Christine (Keith), Sandra (Braden), Alex and Travis; great-grandchildren, Dallas and Bronsen. She is also survived by sister Doris and brother Wilfred. She is predeceased by parents, Eley and Kate; sister Joyce; and brothers, Vernie, Melvin and Edwin. She was born in Teulon, April 1, 1938. On October 17, 1958 she married the love of her life, Ken. They lived in the Teulon area raising their four children to whom she was devoted. In recent years, Mom and Dad enjoyed going dancing, travelling to various musical events and meeting new friends along the way. She took pride in her flowerbeds and loved nature walks with her children and grandchildren. She always had time to listen to her family and gave good advice. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 3 at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Church, Teulon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Teulon District Memory Garden or charity of their choice.
