Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOREEN FROBISHER (nee BIRD) 1927 - 2011 It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved Mom on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the age of 83. Peacefully and surrounded by her family she passed into the Lord's care. Her greatest pleasure was being a wife and mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Mom was born in Winnipeg on August 4, 1927 to Joseph and Amelia Bird. She was the last member of five siblings; Harry, Albert, Mabel and Eva. She married Philibert Frobisher September 28, 1946 and was predeceased by him on September 2, 1985. They raised a family in a home of warmth, love and security in her childhood home in Fort Garry. Mom offered to all, her love, care and understanding. She leaves to celebrate her life her daughters Pat Steventon (Ron), Sandra Holt (Gary), Val Frobisher (Peter) and sons Guy and Gary (Claudette). Grandchildren: Chris (Angell), Adam, Marni (Keith), Rachelle (Mike), Joshua, Natasha, Benjamin and Sunshine. Great-grandchildren: Shannon (Clinton), Justin, Kristin, Tyler, Ryan, Damian, Kaitlyn, Alexis, Cedric and Great-great-grandson Ayden and many nieces and nephews. Mom was generous in spirit and had a ready smile. She was empathetic and supportive of all our life celebrations and challenges. By her example she instilled in her family traditional values and the golden rule. Mom's greatest joy was spending time with family. Mom had a deep faith as a Roman Catholic and prayed for all her family. Jesus said: I am the resurrection. Anyone who believes in me, even though that person dies, will live. The family wishes to thank the doctor's and staff of Unit 5E of the St. Boniface Hospital for the care and compassion they showed to Mom. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
