GILBERT EDWARD JOSEPH DEURBROUCK January 6, 1969 - May 30, 2011 It is with great sadness our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother and uncle, Gilbert on May 30, 2011 in Winnipeg at the age of 42. Gil is survived by his parents, Norbert and Alma; sister Lise (Julien) Brais; brothers, Albert (Sharen) and Leo (Kelly); and little sister Doris (Ron) Boos, as well as five nieces and five nephews; and special friend Michelle. Gilbert was born and raised in Aubigny, Manitoba. He attended school in Ste. Agathe until the 9th grade and continued high school in Steinbach where he graduated with a vocational diploma specializing in cooking. From there Gil moved to Winnipeg where he worked in a variety of restaurants as a cook. Gilbert loved to work in the kitchen but more than that he loved the outdoors. Fishing was his passion and he received a number of Master Angler certificates. We would like to acknowledge Premier personnel. They were key in assisting Gilbert throughout his career. Their support was greatly appreciated. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2011 with viewing at 1:30 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Service to terminate at chapel. A private family interment will be held on a later date at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Thank you to the Winnipeg Police Service and the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Services who tended to our brother and family's needs upon his passing. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550
