Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN VIRGINIA MALCOLM 1918 - 2011 Helen Virginia Malcolm passed away peacefully on May 30, 2011 at Victoria General Hospital. Helen was born in Winnipeg on October 28, 1918 and lived her entire life in the city she loved. She was the eldest of four daughters born to Harold and Margaret DesBrisay. Helen was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, John (Jack) M. Malcolm, who died in 1989; also by her beloved grandson, Jeff; her sister June Bubb; and her nephew Geoff. She is survived by her son Ross (Kathy); daughter Lesley (Ken Neufeld); grandson James (Heather); and great-granddaughter Sarah; sisters, Lenore Tettamanti and Marion Burnett of Vancouver; nephew Paul; and nieces, Jennifer, Kim, Gaye and Jill. Her family will remember Helen as someone who was determined, resilient, independent and ready to smile or have a good laugh and always willing to lend a helping hand. A special thank you goes to everyone at the Waverley and Rosewood retirement community for providing such a wonderful living environment in Helen's later years. Also a tremendous thank you to the kind, dedicated doctors, nurses and staff at Victoria General Hospital, Floor 5 South and to Brenda Kennedy for being such a dear friend to the family. A celebration of Helen's life will take place on July 23, 2011, location to be announced.
