RUSSELL DALE GILCHRIST March 29, 1955 - June 2, 2011 Sadly, on June 2, 2011, Dale peacefully passed away with his family by his side. He will always be fondly remembered by his wife and best friend of 30 years, Lorise. His daughters, Sara (Barret), Kiera (Steve) and his little Leah will always remember him with much love. He is also survived by his parents, Alex and Shirley; father-in-law Henry; brother Brent (Val); sister Kim; brother-in-law Floyd (Peggy); and sister-in-law Lynnette (Robert); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law Helen. Dale's main focus in life was his family. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and children and was always looking out for them. One of his proudest moments was celebrating the wedding of his daughter, Sara and son-in-law Barret last July. Dale had a great sense of humour and was able to laugh at himself, which happened often. He was a generous man who was quick to offer a cold drink or food to company even during his hospital stay. He also enjoyed landscaping and his work was admired by many. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Garcia and the staff at Riverview Health Centre and family physician Dr. C. Duerksen. Funeral service will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. on Tuesday, June 7 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Floodgates Worship Centre, 239 Selkirk Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2W 2L5.
