FLETCHER LANGFORD 1934 - 2011 Peacefully, on Wednesday June 1, 2011 at the age of 77, Fletcher passed away after a short battle with cancer. Fletcher was predeceased by his first wife Lina (Marcoux), two sons, Glenn and Van-Allen, his father George, mother Etta and brother Wellington. He is survived by his three sons Jim, Ron, and Gord; his brother Cleveland (Ida); and his second wife Rose (Jonas) and her four children. Fletcher will be sadly missed by his nine grandchildren, Ashley, Andrew, Jessica, Mitchell, Beth, Brittany, Shawna, Kyla and his little bud Logan, numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Fletcher was born in Weymouth Falls, Nova Scotia. He made his life in Winnipeg, having retired from Via Rail after almost forty years. He spoke fondly of his years spent on the rail, especially the one where he served the Royal Family. Fletcher's passions were hitting that ball across many golf courses and sipping on red wine on numerous cruise ships. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Green Acres Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. R. McDougall officiating. Interment to follow in Green Acres Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff of the oncology and palliative care at the St. Boniface General Hospital for their care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to CancerCare Manitoba 675 McDermot Ave., Rm ON 1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
