Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNATHANIEL HOEL June 3, 2005 - June 3, 2011 Nathaniel Hans Kelly Hoel, beloved son of Bryan Hoel and Krista Kelly, passed away on his birthday at the age of six, after a long battle with cancer. In addition to his parents Nate leaves to mourn his loving, older sister Valeri, who has sacrificed much for her brother, numerous loving and devoted grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. And at the age of 21 months Nate was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma in the back of his skull. Nate the Great fought bravely and heroically to live and enjoy his life. He underwent chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant for leukemia and 62 radiation treatments, with great courage and quiet acceptance. At such a young age Nathaniel was a hero and a pioneer, twice being the first to try therapies newly developed and/or found to treat his type of cancer. Throughout his many treatments, Nathaniel remained a little boy who loved to run and play. He always had a smile and hugs and kisses for everyone that knew him. He was wise beyond his years, a true pleasure to raise and love. Nate loved to go camping in his trailer, to have fun at the water slides with his wonderful sister Valeri, his many cousins and his ever-loving Oma. He loved to play Lego with his Daddy and Grandpa and snuggle with his Momma. He delighted in playing with his Papa, getting candy and kisses from his Grandma and presents from his Paca and playing peri dodge thrust with his Opa. Words cannot describe Nathaniel's bravery. A true warrior and hero! The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and support staff at CancerCare Manitoba, CK5 at Health Sciences Centre Hospital and Pediatric Palliative Care who all cared for and loved Nathaniel. The family would also like to thank Robertson School and staff for their continued support throughout Nathaniel's long journey. As a family, we have made many friends and seen the true kindness, generosity and compassion of others. The continuous support and love from all helped us immensely and will never be forgotten. A memorial service for Nate will be held at Cropo Funeral Home 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, starting at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2011. You are our brave warrior, our soul, WE LOVE YOU. In lieu of flowers please donate to Camp Quality or Nate's Trust Fund care of TD Canada Trust, 201 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba for the education and support of his loving sister, Valeri.
