DOUGLAS CHARLES MIKOLASH Surrounded by his family and with much dignity, Douglas Mikolash, of Selkirk, MB, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at the Selkirk and District General Hospital. Doug is survived by his wife Patricia; mother Kay Mikolash; his brothers, Jim, Leonard (Valda), Tim (Jackie); and his sisters, Jane (Gary), Cindy (Ray), Kathy (Gary) and Kimberly (Dean), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Doug was predeceased by his father Leo Mikolash in 2005. Doug was born and raised in Selkirk, Manitoba. He was an excellent cook and story-teller, always tossing around his many jokes in his own unique way. He worked as a long haul trucker and in later years as a mason. Cremation has taken place. A private family service is planned. The family wishes to thank the physicians and staff of the Selkirk General Hospital for all of Doug's care. As well, thanks to the Concordia Hospital ICU for the excellent care of Doug. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Selkirk Hospital Palliative Care Room in Doug's memory.
