DOROTHY JUNE MCFARLAND ROSKY It is with our deepest sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother at the age of 77 on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Selkirk Betel Home. She is predeceased by her husband Alex; infant son John; granddaughter Nancy Rosser-Niemi; parents, Malcolm and Florence Ainslie; brothers, Everett, Jack, Doug, Ronald, Mervin, Mackie; and sisters, Lillian and Corinne. She is survived by her sons, Richard and James; daughters: Linda Rosser (Malcolm Lucas), Yvonne (Glen) Maxon, Mary (Doug) Still; grandchildren, Natasha (Damon) Bostrom, Mike (Brandi) Maxon and Jim Still; great-grand-children, Daniel and Joshua Bostrom, Hannah Niemi and Kale Maxon; sisters, Evelyn (George) Malyk and Marlene Sclmarr. Mom was born on June 21, 1933 in Capreol, ON, where she met our Dad, Alex. Later they were married in Nipigon, ON on July 4, 1950. They began their family shortly thereafter and eventually made their way to Selkirk. In 1973 with the help of friends and family, Dad built their home on Colcleugh Avenue next door to his Mom and Dad, this home is where many happy family memories were made. Our mother worked as a Nurse's Aid at the old Selkirk General Hospital for many years. She loved spending time with her children and grand-children. Her and Dad loved to travel to see family in Ontario and Alberta, their grand-children were included on many of these trips. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crochet work and bingo. When her health deteriorated, she became a resident of the Selkirk Betel Home. She enjoyed the daily visits with fellow residents and truly appreciated the kind and generous support she received from the nursing staff. We extend our thanks to Dr. Zoppa, Dr. Demsas and the nursing staff from Selkirk General Hospital for making her last days as comfortable as possible. Mom is in a happier place with the love of her life, Dad. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Mother's Day Run/Walk for the MRI campaign. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
