WALTER BEARD After a long and courageous battle on Friday, June 3, 2011, Walter passed away peacefully with his four girls by his side. He is survived by his wife Kitty; daughters, Lauretta, Sherry (Larissa); and grandson Darryl; sisters, Shirley (Don) and Pat. He was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Jennie; and brother George. Walters's journey in life took him on many adventures through various parts of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. Although he enjoyed the journey, his roots always brought him home to Hodgson. In 1969, Walter married the love of his life, and in 1972 together they returned to the family home. Walter continued to work for the Manitoba Government for various departments and capacities until his retirement in 1997. After retirement, Walter changed careers and his love for travel found him driving a big rig. When he decided to officially retire, he switched to something a tad smaller than an 18 wheeler. This allowed him to enjoy every day he could, being at the wheel of the local handi van chauffeuring his old people . We will celebrate Walter's life on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Parish, Fisher Branch, Manitoba. A private family burial to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Palliative Care Percy E. Moore Hospital, Hodgson Manitoba or Fisher District Handi Van, Fisher Branch, Manitoba. FISHER FUNERAL HOME INC. In care of arrangements. Fisher Branch, MB (204) 372-6803 or 372-6271
