SARAH ELLEN BEDBROOK It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Sarah Ellen (Sadie) Bedbrook on June 3, 2011 at Pembina Place Mennonite Personal Care Home. Sarah was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Albert in 2005; her daughter Maureen in 1991; and her three brothers, John, Bob and Norman. She is survived by her two sons: Richard (Linda) and John (Colleen); four grandchildren: Wendy (Sean), Scott (Denise), Leah (Phillip) and Sean; four great-grandchildren: Callie, Hayden, Obadiah and Josiah; as well as her two sisters, Lil Blatch, Margaret Phillips; and sister-in-law June Roddy. Sarah was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1915 and moved to Winnipeg with her family as a child. She met and married the love of her life, Albert, in 1939. She was a stay at home mother raising her three children. Outside the home, Sarah belonged to Toastmistresses and the downtown Y.M.C.A. where she and Bert taught Senior Fitness Classes. She also loved vegetable gardening and playing the organ and recorder. Sarah looked forward to the yearly trips they took throughout Canada and the U.S. and two trips overseas. Special thanks go out to the staff at Pembina Place for all the excellent care and attention they have given our Mom. We would also like to acknowledge Linda Neufeld. Sarah really valued your friendship over her five years at Pembina Place. Mom, you will be missed. God called your name so softly That only you could hear, And no one heard the footsteps Of angels coming near. They closed your eyes and took your hand But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home. The funeral for Sarah will be Wednesday, June 8, 2011, 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 BROADWAY, WINNIPEG, MB R3C OX4 783-7211 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsonfuneralchapel.com
