Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILHELMUS ALBERTUS (WILL) DYKMAN On June 3, 2011, Will died peacefully at Pembina Place Personal Care Home at the age of 92 years. Left to cherish Will's memory are his children, Jerry Dykman (Marty), Joanne Coleman, and Tony Dykman; grandchildren, James Dykman (Jarmila), Elizabeth Dykman and Kate Dykman; great-grandchild William Dijkman. Will was predeceased by his wife Margaret; sister Sofia; and brother Peter. Will was born in Utrecht, Holland on December 20, 1918. He grew up and earned his certification as a compositor-layout man. Will and Margaret married in 1946 and brought their family to Winnipeg in 1957. Will worked as a compositor at Canadian Publishers Ltd., until his retirement in 1983. Beside graphic arts, Will enjoyed sculpting, ceramics and the outdoors. In Holland, he played soccer, liked swimming and sailing. In Manitoba, he enjoyed boating, fishing, berry picking, gardening, and later in his late 50s, he took up downhill skiing. Will and Margaret motored and camped all over North America, from Alaska to interior Mexico. In Will's retirement, he joined the Manitoba Sculpture Club as one of its early members, and his many pieces are cherished by family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 255 Stafford Street, with Rev. Fr. Gerry McDougall, presiding. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
