BETTY ANN SNIHUR (nee MAZUR) July 29, 1948 - June 2, 2011 A famous medium has said that the journey beyond this earth is one of incredible beauty and creativity, and that death is only a transition, not the end. With family at her side at Concordia Hospital, my mother's physical body was claimed by cancer, however, her spirit will be with us always, just as stubborn as usual. Mom was predeceased by her mother in 1971, her father in 1997, her son Kirk in 2005, and her son Kevin in 2010. Remaining here are her husband of almost 45 years, David; sons, Kyle (Brian) and Kory; Mom's sister, Diane (Lance), their children, Wesley, Kerri (her sons, Dayton and Davis), Sheryl (her son Aden and daughter Rorie). Mom was born in Winnipeg, and after high school, took hairdressing. She worked for Gaults Wholesale before starting a family, which she cherished more than anything. Mom was selfless, always putting her children ahead of herself. Second to her children was her love of flowers, and this was displayed by countless hours tending to her immaculate yard and flower beds. Mom also loved shopping, and making her famous meatballs and holupchi. We wish to thank the staff at N1 South at Concordia Hospital for making the last two months easier for us, in particular, Wendy F., Dara, Doris, Amylynn, Sandra, Angela, Katherine, Ellen, Elsa, Pat and Len. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will occur. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
