Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAWRENCE ANTHONY SIGURDUR June 2, 1939 - June 4, 2011 Siggy passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2011. He is survived by his wife Evie, and their family: Sharon (Kelvin), their children Krystin and Craig (Brianne) and great-grandchildren Cayden and Lilly; Tannis and children Deanna, Kaitlyn and Zack; Troy (Leah) and their boys Eric, Cameron and Lucas; Trevor and his boys Stoney and Brody; his in-laws Sharon, Margaret, Dan (Alison) and Hank, his lifelong pal and cousin Harry (Jeannie) along with many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Sig loved being in Gimli where he visited with "relates" and friends that he'd known all his life; his parents had grown up in Gimli and our family has so many great memories of being there together. Sig retired from the City of Winnipeg Survey Department in 1995. He spent his days perfecting his special recipes for Siggy's beans, pigs feet and Caesars, which he'd encourage ya to have a taste. Also going for coffee at Hoban's where he had special friendships. Sig was so friendly he talked to people everywhere he went and often tell us he ran into So & So's someone. He liked to listen to his "Ukrainian Rock and Roll" on CFRY and reminisce. Dad taught us to be observant and to appreciate the beauty of nature and small details. He especially appreciated the art that his "Kimmie Baby" created. He enjoyed advising and debating with his kids and grandkids and hearing the antics of the youngest kids. We will all miss him very much. A service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, 50-1st Ave, Gimli, MB. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at Health Sciences Centre I.C.U. especially Marcella, Joann and Brent Flowers gratefully declined. Happy trails...........till we meet again. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
