ANNIE (NANCY) MCLAUGHLIN On Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba, our beloved Annie Nancy McLaughlin, at the age of 95 years, with her family by her side, left us to enter her heavenly home. Nancy was born in Montreal, Quebec on July 11, 1915 to Eliza and William Kinnaird. Nancy was the oldest of three girls. On September 20, 1941, she married the love of her life, Andrew McKay McLaughlin. She lived for a short time in Montreal and Toronto before moving to Tilbury, Ontario. In 1958 she moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 1955 Nancy and her husband Andrew decided that their family needed completion and on December 24th, they arrived home with newly adopted twin girls June and Judy. The family was now complete. Nancy graduated from Business College in Montreal. She spent many years working as a secretary. In her retirement she loved living life to the fullest. There were many things Nancy enjoyed: travelling, golf, and curling. She really loved her outings to the casino and was also an avid sports fan. In her 80s, Nancy learned how to use the computer to communicate with relatives overseas via email. Thank you to her now good friend Joanna Irwin for having the patience to show her. Nancy lived a very blessed life. She had an abundance of friends whom she dearly loved and enjoyed. She was never one to sit still and remained very active in her circle of friends. Nancy is survived by her twin daughters, Judy Marscella (Blaine) of Dauphin, Manitoba and June Mestery (Donald) of Moorhead, Minnesota. Six grandchildren; Dean Marscella (Michelle), Patti Jones (Blair), Kyle Mestery (Susan), Brent Mestery (Stephaine), Megan Mestery, and Kristen Fjeld (Aaron). Ten great-grandchildren; Kayla and Tanner Marscella, Jessica and Brett Domaradzki, Kaci and Carter Jones, Halle, Tyler, and Gavin Mestery, and Peyton Mestery. Niece Gayle Carriere and family of Richer, Manitoba. Nancy was predeceased by her parents Willam and Eliza Kinnaird, husband Andy McLaughlin and infant daughter Elizabeth, sisters Hazel Kinnaird and Helen McKay. She impacted the lives of every person that she had contact with through the years and set a great example for all to follow. She showed all that life was a precious thing and that it needs to be lived to the fullest everyday that you have...and that she did.... We love her and will miss her very much...... A memorial service celebrating Nancy's life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg, Manitoba. A special thanks to Dr. Thorlakson, Dr. Penner and nursing staff of 5North at Victoria General Hospital for their care and compassion.
