Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJACQUELINE YOLANDE KEY (nee COTE) 1926 - 2011 It is with great sorrow that the family announces the peaceful passing of Jacqueline Key, with her family by her side, at Vista Park Lodge Personal Care Home on Monday, June 6, 2011. Jacqueline was born on February 11, 1926, in Winnipeg where she spent most of her life. She attended Ecole Sacré-Coeur and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate before marrying in 1954. Prior to her marriage, she worked at Canada Bread, and for the Government of Canada where she met her husband Mark. She also worked at Eaton's buyers office prior to her retirement. Jacquie is survived by daughter Valerie; son Mark and wife Brenda; daughter Kathryn and son-in-law Douglas Nuytten and grandson Dylan Nuytten. Jacquie was predeceased by her husband, Mark Wilson Key and her two siblings, Henry and Denise. Mom was very active in her church, St. Thomas More, and was affectionately known as the Koolaid mom of Norwood. She always welcomed many neighbourhood children to her home on Lawndale. She was a great neighbour and friend in her neighbourhood. She developed Alzheimer's disease in the last decade of her life, but always remained talkative right up to her last day. Mom drew great strength from her faith and we rejoice that she is now in peace with our Dad and free from the limitations of mind and body. Many thanks go to the kind and caring staff at Vista Park Lodge, where Mom spent her last years peacefully and comfortably. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street, on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. A private family interment will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.
