Mom was born in LaSalle, MB on April 10, 1918. She was fourth eldest of 14 children. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Sophie Cormier; five brothers, Camille, Aimé, Benoit, Alain, Edmond and by four sisters, Thérèse Girardin, infant Agathe Cormier, Armande McKenna and Pauline Durand. She is survived by one brother, Lucien and three sisters, Agathe Rochon, Andrée Lemoine and Gisèle Isabey. She will be especially missed by her best friend and sister-in-law Aurore Cormier. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Jacques in 1997 and son-in-law Denis Rocan in 1986. Her memory will be cherished by her children: daughter Jacqueline Rocan (David Dawes), son Ron, daughter Colette (Gerry Rocan) and their children Danielle and Renée, daughter Suzanne (Ed Moon) and children Derek (Kit), Keith (Katie), Bruce (Paula) and great-grandchildren Zac, Cole and Ben. Mom was happiest when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She cherished everyone of us as we cherished her. Her sense of humour and unconditional love for all of us will never be forgotten. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Foyer Valade for the care and compassion they have shown to our Mom. You all had a part in creating a warm home environment for her. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Paroisse St. Eugène, 1007 St. Mary's Road with a luncheon to follow. Interment will follow in the La Salle Parish Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations can be made in Monique's memory to a charity of your choice. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 775-2220.
