LORNE GEORGE NICHOL May 25, 1952 - June 5, 2011 Suddenly on June 5, 2011 Lorne passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. His kind and gentle soul will live on forever in our hearts. Lorne is survived by his loving wife Roseann. His four children: daughter Lauren (Jody), Janae and Jalen; daughter Gerri (Brent); daughter Robyn; and son Curtis. Also survived by Lorne's father George and Isabel Nichol; brothers Glen (Judy), Ross (Sandy), Brian (Sandi); and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. Extended family Roseann's children, Brent (Dana) Logan and Avery; Kim (Clayton) Quintin and Sydney; Sean, Amber and Shaylee. Predeceased by his mother Audrey in 1972. Lorne was born and raised in Warren, MB, he was the eldest son to George and Audrey Nichol. Lorne loved curling and playing baseball with the Argyle gang. After graduating from high school, Lorne started working for Motor Coach Industries and spent 39 years in the parts department making many friends. Lorne met Roseann in 1987, they were married in 1989. They moved to their hobby farm at Warren in 1993, where he spent many hours working in the yard, enjoying the garden. Lorne was always willing to lend a hand when needed. Lorne loved camping, fishing and spending weekends at the lake. Lorne really enjoyed all of his grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 13 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Teulon Hospital and also the doctors and staff from Respiratory Care at Health Sciences Centre.
