KATHLEEN (KAE) MURIEL PARKER (nee WESSON) It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Kathleen (Kae) Parker on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Riverview Health Centre. Kae was born on February 1, 1917, on the Saskatchewan prairies near Maidstone, to Laura and John Wesson (CBE). She trained in business school and prior to, and during the Second World War worked for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool in Winnipeg. She married John (Jack) Parker in 1942 and together they raised four children: Kathleen, Mary, John and Nancy. These years were full of family, fun and friends - Kae loved to entertain both at home and at the family cottage at Caddy Lake. She volunteered for the St. Alban's Church guild and the Canadian Consumers Association. In her retirement she and Jack enjoyed many wonderful trips and in later years settled in Mesa, Arizona for the winters. She has left a legacy of love with her family, seven grand-children and 14 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by them all. Kae was proud that she lived independently until age 93 and still lived with spunk, laughter, and enjoying her Scotch. The family would like to acknowledge her friendship with Nancy Pries who was so generous with her caring and support in Kae's later years. Heartfelt appreciation is extended to 1C ward at the Riverview Health Centre for their unconditional compassion. A memorial service will be held in Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Drive at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20. Interment of ashes will take place at Togo, Saskatchewan on June 21. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kae's name may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or Rossbrook House, 658 Ross Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2A 0M1.
