Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHILDA ARGLE (nee MILLAR) With sadness we announce Hilda's passing June 3, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Born in Dundee, Scotland, July 29, 1925, to William and Elizabeth Millar, she was predeceased by George in 2007, her husband of 62 years. She was also predeceased by sisters Elizabeth Millar and Katherine (Gordon) Watson. She is survived by daughter Lyn (Bryan) Thompson and grandson Adam (Ellen) Thompson. She is also survived by several members of the Argle family. Hilda worked at Jute Industries' headquarters in Dundee during the Second World War. George, an R.C.A.F. Corporal met Hilda at a dance while on leave in Scotland. After arrival in Canada as a war bride, Hilda worked for Canadian Pacific Railways and later the Hudson's Bay Company. Hilda had a wonderful sense of life as well as a good sense of humour and she made friends everywhere she went. She was a generous, kind and self-effacing person who always put others ahead of herself, and who volunteered and donated her time and talents to various charities for many years. Hilda asked that anyone wishing to remember her do so with a kind word or deed to someone who needs it. If you wish to remember her with a donation, it can be sent to either the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1101-191 Lombard Ave., Winnipeg R3B 0X1 or the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1001465 Buffalo Place, Winnipeg, R3T 1L8. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Hilda's wishes there will be no service. No flowers please. Thanks to Dr. Koven and the staff at WeCare and at Simkin Centre.
